Next Friday is a big night for us.  We have been chosen to participate in the 10th Annual Luminaria in San Antonio, TX.  Along side select artists from around the world we will be presenting a performance piece titled SCRATCH-N-STITCH.  This is the brain child of DJ EPSR and I am happy to see it come to fruition and be able to exhibit it to an audience in the thousands.

DJ EPSR will be spinning and SCRATCHING records, I will be live STITCHING on 2 machines mirroring his DJ set up...and there will be projections!  With our needles (sewing machines and turntables) we will be creating an auditory, visual and tangible art experience.

"Why?" you ask.  WHY NOT!?! I like sewing, he likes scratching, so we decided to combine our two individual passions and skills into one big taco salad bowl of fun.

Today most DJ's use computers to mix and play their music, and our consumer culture has lost the once common skill of sewing to create and repair.  Scratch-n-Stitch aims to promote both the art of vinyl spinning and inspire guests to perhaps pick up a needle and thread and make something too, whether it be auditory or tangible.

We will be set up on the porch of the beautiful and historic Longini Hermann House located near the Alamo Street Entrance to Hemisfair Park.  Scheduled performances start at 7:30pm, 9pm and 10:45pm.

We hope to see you there.  Come dance, indulge your sense, and if you are lucky take home a little piece of fiber art created during the evening.
